2 Journalist, Victims of Violence by the Police Officer Reporting to the National Police Propam
Two journalists suspected of being victims of police violence when covering the student demonstrations was reported to the Police Headquarters.
TRIBUNBATAM.id - Two journalists suspected of being victims of police violence when covering the student demonstrations was reported to the Professional and Security Division at the National Police Headquarters.
The complaint was made after the second report was rejected by the Criminal Investigation Police on Wednesday (10/9/2019).
The police directed both of them to report the case to Propam and sent a letter to the head of Criminal Investigation.
The two journalists were Haris Prabowo from Tirto.id and Vany Fitria from Narasi TV.
Haris's report to Propam is received by letter with number SPSP2 / 2550 / X / 2019 / BAGYANDUAN on Wednesday (9/10/2019) at 16:40 WIB.
The matter written in the report is a complaint regarding the alleged violation of Article 18 Paragraph 1 of the Press Law committed by police officers.
While Vany's report was received by letter with number SPSP2 / 2551 / X / 2019 / BAGYANDUAN at the same time, hour, and subject matter.
The Head of the Police Public Information Section, Senior Commissioner Asep Adi Saputra said both of them were directed to the Propam because the allegations were directed to the individual police officers.
It is known, Haris and Vany experienced of violence when covering the news of the student demonstrations on September 25 and September 30, 2019. The perpetrators of the violence are suspected to be the elements of the Police. (*)
