Hang Nadim Airport and Nongsa Become Special Economic Zones, Rudi Called It President Jokowi's Order
Special Economic Zones or Kawasan Ekonomi Khusus (KEK) to Hang Nadim Airport and Nongsa in Batam was an order from Indonesian President Joko Widodo.
TRIBUNBATAM.id - Head of Batam Business Entity called Badan Pengusahaan (BP), Rudi said, this included an order from Indonesian President Joko Widodo during his inauguration as Head of BP Batam, 27 September in Jakarta.
"In the next two months, Airport and Nongsa will become Special Economic Zones or Kawasan Ekonomi Khusus (KEK)," said Rudi, recently at Panbil Best Western Premier (BWP) Hotel in Mukakuning, Batam, Riau Islands.
For the letter process, it has been submitted to Economic Minister for Republic of Indonesia. Rudi hopes that implementation of KEK in Batam can be realized soon.
"Hopefully this early November is finished, President's decision on KEK," he said.
On the other hand, it will also open up employment opportunities.
As for KEK at the airport, Rudi estimates that he can recruit up to 10 thousand workers there.
"We prioritize Batam citizen. So we can open new job opportunities," said Rudi.
He continued, for this KEK there will be operators.
The operator is under BP Batam.
Rudi did not argue, there were still some parties who objected to enactment of KEK in Batam.
"Therefore, we give examples of those belonging to government first. Such as ports, airports, hospitals (Batam RSBP)," he said. (wie)
