"New recipes, new designs, new shapes, new toppings and new packaging formats. It is important to monitor changes in consumer trends, share them and discuss innovations that can be presented, "he said at an event in Jakarta some time ago. 

Mintel's 2019 global retail market report on ice cream revealed that Asian markets, including Indonesia, are expected to grow significantly in the next decade.

Ice cream that leaves a visual impression is marketed to attract the attention of young consumers who love to share creative and imaginative food concepts on their social media.

Many brands in Asia have experimented with bright colors, innovative shapes, diverse textures, and attractive scents to make their products worthy of being uploaded on social media. 

International styles such as mochi bring a new color to this category, while local or regional ingredients can provide a unique and authentic ice cream flavor.

"Consumers are interested in buying ice cream which is not only interesting about taste, but all of their senses. Products with bright colors, aromas, and attractive textures will produce a memorable dining experience, "explained the Director of Processing, Tetra Pak Indonesia, Tony Mehrtens.

According to Rasmuessen, in Indonesia producers have started to present variants of flavors with pieces of fruit in their ice cream, or nuts. 

"So they offer consumers ice cream that is interesting and unique in terms of taste. But for healthy ice cream, in the future is developing, "he explained.

He added, Tetra Pak innovations can provide technology to accurately measure these ingredients to ensure delicious surprises in every bite of ice cream. (*)
