Batam Immigration Ready to Welcome Foreigners, Implementation of the Indonesia-Singapore TCA

The Batam City Government (Pemko) and stakeholders continue to prepare various facilities to welcome the Travel Corridor Arrangement (TCA).

TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM - The Batam City Government (Pemko) and stakeholders continue to prepare various facilities to welcome the Travel Corridor Arrangement (TCA) policy. 

The plan is for the Indonesia-Singapore TCA to take effect on 26 October 2020. 

How about the Immigration service? 

Head of Batam Class I Immigration Department, Ismoyo said, currently there is a Minister of Law and Human Rights Regulation Number 26 of 2020. 

These regulations on visas and residence permits in the adaptation period of New Normal. 

The immigration policy must be implemented while adhering to health protocols

Welcoming the implementation of TCA, Batam Immigration is currently very ready to support this policy. 

The Immigration Service also conducts socialization regarding this rule to other related parties.

Previously, the ad-interim Mayor of Batam, Syamsul Bahrum said that his party continues to coordinate ahead of the implementation of the TCA.

Currently, there are three international ports in Batam that are prepared as entrances. 

"There are Batam Center Ports, Harbor Bay and Nongsa Pura. Which ports will be selected, we are still discussing," said Syamsul, Wednesday (21/10/2020).

Syamsul said, with the existence of the TCA policy, Batam would certainly benefit greatly. Because, apart from using the air route in Jakarta, the government also agreed to open a sea route through Batam

"Therefore, those who are going to Singapore, especially business workers, can go through Batam. So, at least three days stay in Batam to do the PCR test," he said.
