UPDATE January 31: Add 12,001, The Total Cases of Covid-19 in Indonesia 1,078,314

TRIBUNBATAM.id - The Covid-19 case in Indonesia is still happening and shows no signs of ending.

Data from the Covid-19 Task Force on Sunday (31/1/2021) at 12.00 WIB showed that the total number of Covid-19 cases in the country reached 1,078,314.

This number was obtained from the addition of 12,001 new cases in the last 24 hours, starting from the announcement of the first patient on March 2, 2020.

Of this total, there were 873,221 patients who recovered after increasing by 10,719. 

They were declared cured based on examination with the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method which showed negative results for the coronavirus.

In addition, 29,998 patients died after increasing 270 people.

Meanwhile, there are as many as 73,652 people who are currently suspected of being related to the transmission of the coronavirus. 

From that number, 175,095 active cases were found.

Specimen Data

The additional 12,001 positive cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours were discovered after the government examined 44,658 specimens a day. 

This number came from 33,162 people whose samples were taken to undergo specimen examination. 

Thus, in total, the government examined 9,238,689 specimens from 6,158,452 people sampled. 

For the record, one person can undergo specimen examination more than once. 

Covid-19 cases now have been recorded in all provinces in Indonesia, from Aceh to Papua. (*)
