UPDATE of Batam-Bintan Bridge Project, Ministry of PUPR: There are Already Investors who Interested

Not only the Riau Islands Provincial Government, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing or the Ministry of PUPR said that if there are already investors who are interested in the construction of the bridge, it is estimated that it will cost up to IDR 8 trillion.
Reporting from Kontan.co.id, Director General of Infrastructure Financing, Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Eko Djoeli Heripoerwanto said the Batam-Bintan bridge project will be offered under a KPBU scheme.
Currently, the Batam-Bintan Bridge project is still under technical and financial review due to changes in a number of assumptions.
He gave an example, if there is a demand for additional motorways on the bridge, then it will have implications for investment.
Eko said, later, if the Batam-Bintan Bridge project is economically feasible, but financially not feasible, it will be prepared for government support.
This must coordinate with other ministries / agencies.
The Batam-Bintan Bridge project is planned to be auctioned in the second quarter of 2021.
Eko explained that the Batam-Bintan Bridge project is one of the 12 road and bridge projects that have been included in this year's KPBU plan list.
Regarding the estimated investment cost required in the construction of the Batam-Bintan Bridge, Eko said, there are around IDR 8 trillion.
