Data from the Covid-19 Handling Task Force on Wednesday (7/21/2021) at 12.00 WIB showed that there were 33,772 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. 

The addition brings the total number of Covid-19 cases in Indonesia to 2,983,830 people, as of the first case announced by President Joko Widodo on March 2, 2020. 

The addition of new cases was known after the government examined 153,330 specimens in a day.

In the same period, 116,232 people were sampled for specimen examination. 

Government data also shows that there are additional patients recovering from Covid-19. 

Within a day, the number of patients who recovered after being infected with the coronavirus increased by 32,887 people. 

Thus, the number of recovered patients to date has reached 2,356,553 people. 

With this data, there are currently 549,694 active cases of Covid-19. 

Active cases are patients who are still confirmed positive for the coronavirus, and are undergoing treatment in a hospital or self-isolation. 

In addition, the government also noted that now there are 271,662 people with suspect status.

Meanwhile, Covid-19 cases in Indonesia have been recorded in 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces, from Aceh to Papua. 

This means that the transmission of the coronavirus has been recorded in more than 99 percent of areas in the country. (*)
