TRIBUNBATAM.id, RIAU - Forest and land fires (Karhutla) hit a number of areas in Riau Province.

The Pekanbaru Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Department (BMKG) detected 147 hotspots in the Riau region. 

Pekanbaru BMKG forecaster Bibi Sulianto said the hot spots were spread across 11 regencies and cities.

"The most hotspots were detected in Pelalawan Regency, which was 37 points. Then, Dumai City was 35 points," said Bibin in a written statement, Wednesday (7/28/2021). 

Then, 11 hot spots in Bengkalis Regency; 11 hotspots in the Meranti Islands; 11 points in Rohil ; Rokan Hulu as many as 7 points; Indragiri Hilir 16 points; Indragiri Hulu 15 points; Siak 3 points; Kampar and Kuantan Singingi 1 point each.

Forest and land fires smolder in peatlands in Dumai City, Rokan Hilir (Rohil), and Bengkalis District. 

This was conveyed by the Head of Manggala Agni Sumatra V Operational Area (Daops) of Dumai, Ismail Hasibuan. 

He said that the forest and land fires in Dumai are located in Lubuk Gaung Village, Sungai Sembilan District.

Then, in Bengkalis Regency, it happened in Batu Panjang Village. 

Meanwhile, in Rohil, it happened in Kubu District.
