5.3 Magnitude Earthquake Shakes North Padang Lawas, Tremors felt to South Tapanuli
An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 shook North Padang Lawas Regency, North Sumatra, Wednesday (8/11/2021).

"There has been an earthquake with temporary parameters, namely, magnitude 5.3 on the Richter Scale, 1.43 North Latitude, 99.48 East Longitude, a depth of 10 kilometers, located 20 kilometers southwest, North Padang Lawas Regency, North Sumatra," said Lewi to reporters, Wednesday.
Lewi said the tremors were felt in the cities of Padang Sidempuan and South Tapanuli.
Head of the Communication and Information Office of the North Padang Lawas Regency Government, Lairar Nasution said, based on information from the community, the tremors felt was very strong.
He hasn't received any reports of damage or untoward events as a result of the earthquake.
"There have been no reports of damage, we have contacted the sub-district heads to report if there was serious damage. And if there were any casualties." Lairar said. (*)
