UPDATE August 17: Add 20,741, Indonesia's Covid-19 Cases Now Reach 3,892,479 People
On the 76th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia, Tuesday (8/17/2021), the Covid-19 pandemic is still dynamic.
This can be seen from the addition of 20,741 new positive cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours or since Monday, (8/16/2021) until 12.00 WIB on Tuesday.
The addition has brought the total number of Covid-19 cases in Indonesia to 3,892,479, as of the first case announced by President Joko Widodo on March 2, 2020.
This information was conveyed by the Covid-19 Handling Task Force to reporters on Tuesday afternoon.
With this data, there are currently 358,357 active cases of Covid-19.
Active cases are patients who are still confirmed positive for the coronavirus, and are undergoing treatment in a hospital or self-isolation.
Furthermore, there are 510 districts/cities that have been exposed to Covid-19 in 34 provinces in Indonesia, from Aceh to Papua.
This means that more than 99 percent of regions in Indonesia have recorded transmission of the coronavirus. (*)
