Solidarity Action Committee for Munir Reveals Unexamined Names Related to Munir's Murder Case
The Solidarity Action Committee for Munir (KASUM) revealed a number of names suspected of being involved in the murder case of human rights activist,.
TRIBUNBATAM.ID - The Solidarity Action Committee for Munir (KASUM) revealed a number of names suspected of being involved in the murder case of human rights activist, Munir Said Thalib, but haven't been processed by law.
KASUM activist, Arif Maulana, said that this could actually be known from the report on the results of the investigation by the Fact Finding Team or called TPF in the Munir murder case that was formed by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) in 2004.
"Actually, there are names of actors who are strongly suspected of being involved in Munir's murder, but, to this day they haven't been investigated, their statements haven't been investigated, the police have never investigated, even though these names were clearly recommended by the TPF," said Arif in an online discussion, Tuesday (9/7/2021).
This was conveyed by Arif in response to concrete steps that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) could take to thoroughly investigate the Munir murder case.
A number of names that haven't been processed by law are the former Head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), AM. Hendropriyono; BIN agent, Bambang Irawan; and Vice President of Corporate Security Garuda Indonesia who is a suspect, Ramelgia Anwar.
In addition, there are flight attendants Oedi Irianto and Yetty Susmiyati. Both of these names are also suspects.
"Why is it that the person who was later strongly suspected of being involved in the Munir murder case has never been investigated by the police?" said Arif.
"And this can actually be done. The police can carry out an investigation. In fact, there are also two names whose investigations have stopped. They were the flight attendants who were providing food and drinks to Munir," he added.
He also mentioned President Jokowi's commitment to work to resolve the Munir murder case.
According to him, Jokowi as the highest leader should be able to order the police to conduct an investigation.
Moreover, the evidence is very clear based on the findings of the TPF and the facts of the trial. However, Jokowi has not taken this action until now.
It is known that today, 17 years ago, Munir was murdered.
Munir breathed his last on the Garuda Indonesia plane that took him to Amsterdam.
The autopsy concluded that Munir died from arsenic poisoning. (*)
