TRIBUNBATAM.id, NORTH MALUKU - An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 rocked West Halmahera, North Maluku, on Wednesday (9/22/2021) at around 7.03 pm. 

Based on the website of the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Department (BMKG), the location of the earthquake was about 123 kilometers northwest of West Halmahera, North Maluku.

Precisely at coordinates 1.85 North Latitude, 126.60 East Longitude. 

The earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers.

"The earthquake didn't have the potential for a tsunami," the BMKG statement said on the official website, Wednesday (9/22).

BMKG reminded the public to remain careful of aftershocks that might occur.
