Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan announced Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport will receive international flight
TRIBUNBATAM.id - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan announced that I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport will receive international flights as of October 14, 2021.
International travelers who are allowed to take the flight, continued Luhut, are those from South Korea, China, Japan, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and New Zealand.
Responding to this, Public Relations of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, Taufan Yudhistira said that his party still had to wait for further regulations.
Taufan continued, regulations will come from many parties, especially the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) and the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes).
However, there is a possibility that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemenlu) and the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) will take part in drafting regulations for the acceptance of international flights.
Airport readiness to welcome foreign tourists
Taufan revealed that Bali's Ngurah Rai Airport is ready to make international flights, if it is later opened.
However, he didn't reveal the exact date for the opening of international flights and whether it would be the same as Luhut's stated date.
Meanwhile, currently his party has implemented a health protocol that is in accordance with the standards set by the Ministry of Health.
An example is the PCR test facility to anticipate when international travelers arrive at Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport.
