TRIBUNBATAM.id,BATAM -- Immigration issued new rules for visa-free visits and VoA specifically for tourism in the Riau Islands.
The new visa-free rules are contained in Circular No. IMI-0533.GR.01.01 of 2022 issued by the Acting Director General of Immigration, Widodo Ekatjahjana.
This circular contains immigration facilities through the opening of visa-free visits and visit visas on arrival (Visa on Arrival/VOA) specifically for tourism in the Riau Islands which will be effective on March 22, 2022.
Director of Immigration Traffic of the Directorate General of Immigration Amran Aris said that, visa-free visits (BVK) specifically for tourism was given to tourists from Singapore and ASEAN countries (Brunei Darussalam, Philippines, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam) with status permanent resident in Singapore through a designated Immigration Checkpoint (TPI), namely:
- Nongsa Terminal Bahari;
- Batam Center;
- Citra Tri Tunas;
- Marina Teluk Senimba
- Bandar Bentan Telani Lagoi;
- Bandar Seri Udana Lobam, and
- Sri Bintan Pura
Foreign tourists who meet the categories will be allowed to enter the Riau Archipelago Region by showing the following documents:
- National passport that is still valid for at least 6 (six) months;
- A return ticket or a pass to continue to another country,
