TRIBUNBATAM.id - Since the rains flushed in Tarempa Urban Village, Siantan District, Anambas Islands Regency, there are still some residents who collect water for their daily needs.
Because Water Supply and Infrastructure (SPAM) machine managed by Public Works and Public Housing Department (DPUPR) through UPT SPAM has not been able to distribute water through pipes that have been installed into residents' homes.
When tribunbatam.id came to one of water reservoirs located on Jalan Soekarno Hatta, Batu Tambun, Rintis Village, Tarempa Urban Village, Siantan District, a water reservoir with a capacity of 400 cubic was seen.

Head of Cipta Karya Isa Hendra, who was at the location, said that he was currently working on water distribution to the tanks.
"This is what we are doing for us for distribute to residents using tanks transported by car, later we will distribute them to Tanjung Lambai, Tanjung, and maybe later on to the bay," Isa said, Monday (09/30/2019).
He also explained that currently, distribution of water was disrupted because there was a work to normalize the reservoir.
"While our services are stopped the community can accommodate in the tank, maybe two or three days we can run down, while we still use car, the most important thing is to meet needs of citizens," continued Isa.
Head of Siantan SPAM, Zulkarnain confirmed the condition.
He said he was still distributing clean water by filling the provided storage tanks.
This was done because SPAM engine was not optimal.
"At present we are still distributing water using official cars. Because SPAM engine is not optimal. Because the old engine is broken, but it has been repaired and there are additional new engines as well," said Zulkarnain.
Beside that, distribution of clean water through SPAM is still experiencing problems due to condition of reservoir which is in process of normalization.
After the normalization of reservoir is complete, it is certain that water distribution will be smooth.
"We have two reservoirs that are still in the process of normalization. Because this reservoir cannot yet hold water, when we are still distributing it manually to residents for obtain water until the reservoir can be used," he concluded. (tribunbatam.id/Rahma Tika)
