TRIBUNBATAM.id - The death of the campursari singer Didi Kempot also leave sorrow for customs authorities.
Head of Regional Office of DJBC Central Java and DIY, Padmoyo Tri Wikanto also said, Didi Kempot since the beginning of this year has been working with Customs in the campaign to eradicate illegal cigarettes.
The artist, who is called The Godfather of Brokenheart, gave up one of his famous old songs, namely Sekonyong-konyong Koder, to change the title and lyrics to the song of 'Gempur Rokok Ilegal'. This song has been widely circulated in electronic media, social media, and videotrons throughout the country.
"Striving to eradicate illegal cigarettes is very noble. That means taking part in securing state finances, securing regional income, and indirectly participating in maintaining sustainable development," Tri said in his written statement received by Kompas.com, Friday (05/08/2020).
Didi Kempot's campaign to eradicate illegal cigarettes does not stop there. Didi Kempot Together with Sukun Cigarette Factory held a Phase I roadshow in 10 cities in Central Java from February to April 2020.
In every concert, which is always packed with tens of thousands of Sobat Ambyar, the name for Didi Kempot fans, it is also accompanied by an activity to eradicate illegal cigarettes, which is to inform the characteristics of illegal cigarettes and to encourage people not to buy illegal cigarettes because it harms the country and the community.
Roadshow events in five cities including Ambarawa, Blora, Ungaran, Pati and Grobogan have been successfully passed.
Tri also said that the struggle with Didi Kempot began to show results, especially in the Central Java region.
Tri explained that as of April 30, 2020, the Customs Office had successfully conducted 105 countermeasures, with the number of illegal cigarettes of 11.44 million cigarettes, and the potential loss of the state that had been secured reached Rp. 7.29 billion. As for the same period in 2019, Customs succeeded in carrying out 98 countermeasures, with the number of illegal cigarettes of 25.3 million cigarettes, and the potential loss of the state which was secured reached Rp 11.92 billion.
In terms of the number of actions, there was an increase of 7.14 percent.
However, in terms of number, illegal cigarettes decreased by 54.78 percent. The decline in the number of illegal cigarettes in Central Java was allegedly caused by a raid on one of the cigarette factories in the Demak area at the end of last year, so the supply of illegal cigarettes was reduced.
This is also one indicator of success in the illegal cigarette fight campaign. Community involvement in reporting the existence of illegal cigarettes is also expected to continue to increase, so that the financial rights of the state, which in turn will also be returned to the public, can be tolerated.
