TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM - Efforts to consider more health aspects in the midst of Covid-19, some tourism events of Culture and Tourism Department (Disbudpar) in Batam were canceled.
Batam Head of Culture and Tourism Department, Ardiwinata, said that one of the canceled events was Wonderfood Ramadhan.
This activity was previously able to become a special destination during Ramadan.
Even a number of foreign tourists had a chance to visit.
The reason for canceling Wonderfood Ramadhan this time was because of Covid-19 outbreak.
"See you next year we are planning an even better event specifically Ramadan," said Ardi, Friday (05/08/2020).

He admitted that the cancellation was done in order to minimize the mass crowd.
Ardi also revealed that in his pandemic season, the tourist visits had also been suppressed.
The fewer foreign tourists who come in this situation, at least minimize the risk of bringing outbreaks from outside.
"For the affected tourism world, we are also trying to help one another. We're together against Covid-19 so that it passes quickly and tourism events can be held again," he said.
