TRIBUNBATAM.id -  Some eating patterns, high stress levels, and also exposure to pollution, are factors related to acne problems.

Although not all the experts agree with the opinion that certain foods can trigger the acne, but there is enough evidence to suggest otherwise.

One of them is a study of acne that involving 6,700 peoples from 6 countries in Europe and America.

The results of the analysis show that people who have acne problems consume dairy products every day, compared to those without acne (48.2 percent versus 38.8 percent).

The same thing is also seen in the consumption of soda, juice or syrup. Those with acne more often consume it. Meanwhile for chocolate and bread, the ratio is 37 percent and 27.8 percent.

The results of the study also found that 11 percent of acne sufferers consume whey protein compared to those without acne. Anabolic steroid consumption is also more in people who are spotty.

Exposure to pollution and stress is also more commonly experienced by people with acne. They also often use harsh skincare products. 

This study only shows the link between acne and these factors, not a causal relationship.

Acne is estimated to be experienced by 1 in 10 people in the world and 40 percent of adult women still experience it.

Although not life-threatening, but acne is one of the causes of mental problems, including depression. Acne that is difficult to treat is also the main reason people go to a dermatologist. (*)
