Labuan Bajo Hosts ASEAN Summit 2023, Targeting 250,000 of Foreign Tourist Visits

TRIBUNBATAM.id, LABUAN BAJO - Labuan Bajo was appointed as the host of the 2023 ASEAN Summit in May 2023. 

Responding to this, the Main Director of the Labuan Bajo Tourism Authority Agency (BOP) Shana Fatina said, the ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo is expected to be able to encourage the achievement of the target of 250,000 tourist visits to Labuan Bajo in 2023. 

The increase in the number of tourist visits to Labuan Bajo is also supported by the readiness of airports, ports, road access, as well as accommodation and tourism activities.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf), Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno also hopes that the moment of the ASEAN Summit can encourage tourist visits to Labuan Bajo through visits by heads of state throughout ASEAN.

"We can introduce and show how Labuan Bajo, as a super priority tourist destination, is the center of attention. Not only at the regional level, but throughout the world," Sandiaga said at the Weekly Brief. 

To note, the ASEAN member countries that will participate in the ASEAN Summit 2023 are Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, and East Leste. 

It is known that President Jokowi also observed that the location for the ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo is ready to be used for the ASEAN Summit in May 2023.
