13 times Visiting Papua, Jokowi: Translate on Your Own Meanings
President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) claimed to have visited Papua 13 times, more than visiting other areas which were only two or three times.
"In my count, today is the 13th time I went to Papua. Maybe to other areas only two, or three or four times. Here (Papua) has been 13 times. Translate on your own meanings," Jokowi said, after formalizing Youtefa Bridge, in Jayapura, Papua, Monday (10/28/2019).
The land of Papua must develop like other regions in Indonesia. Papua is a paradise that fell to earth.
Jokowi continued, in the second period of his administration, the first working visit after being inaugurated was Papua.
All that was done to ensure that Papua was built and will not be forgotten.
"During the first administration, I had been traveled all the way into the interior. In the eastern region there was an imbalance of infrastructure that had not been touched. To unite as a nation, infrastructure development had to be accelerated, and parallel with human resource development (HR)," Jokowi said.
Jokowi said, the imbalance, especially connectivity infrastructure will continue to be pursued.
And then, also related to HR development, will be a priority for the next five years.
With the construction of the Youtefa Bridge, according to Jokowi, it is not only a symbol of unifying Indonesia as a nation, but also a symbol of oath of progress in building the land of Papua. (*)
