Riau Islands Tourism Potential Promising, ASITA Kepri Holds Table Top and Mini Travel Fair

TRIBUNBATAM.id - DPD ASITA Riau Islands (Kepri) conducts table top and mini travel fair 2019 at Planet Holiday Hotel.

The activity which lasted for three days, 28-30 October 2019, was the third time ASITA Kepri held the event.

The Chairperson of ASITA, Rusmiati said that she highly appreciated the activities that have been routinely carried out by ASITA Kepri.

"At present there are 7000 travel agents throughout Indonesia joining ASITA. We are always updating how members can become great travel agents.

The way one of them must be creative and innovative in holding tourism events.

For example, ASITA Kepri has conducted, how to travel fair continuously to be useful for the seller, "said Rusmiati.

Meanwhile, Chairman of DPD ASITA Kepri, Andika Lim said that at this third year event, 60 sellers and 120 buyers gathered.

"There are sellers from hotels, tour and travel agents, restaurants, ferry operators, beauty products and many more related to tourism in particular. But if the buyer is obliged to travel agents.

Why travel agents, because they are the ones who will sell these products directly to consumers, ranging from hotels, ferries, restaurants and so on, "said Andika Lim.

The sellers who participated started from Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Korea, India, Laos to Vietnam.

While the buyers are travel agents from various regions.

According to Andika Lim, the sellers who participated because they saw the potential of tourist market from Indonesia, including in Riau Islands.

"This table top is usually just an exchange of information between tourism actors.

But there are also some who have done deal. We as the organizer are also quite proud, because there are some sellers who are happy with the deal.

If the seller is happy it means this activity is also successful. They sell and immediately there are results, "said Andika Lim.

Andika Lim hopes with these activities the world of tourism, especially in Riau Islands can be even more advanced.
