BREAKING NEWS: Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya Sumadi is Positive Infected of Corona Virus

TRIBUNBATAM.id - Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi was declared infected of Corona virus (Covid-19).

This was stated at a press conference at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Saturday (3/14/2020).

Initially, deputy head of the Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital, Budi Sulistya explained that there were government officials who were positive for the Corona virus with a patient identification number 76. 

Then, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno who accompanied him confirmed that the official in question was Budi Karya. 

"With the permission of the family, what was conveyed by the head of the hospital was Mr. Budi, Minister of Transportation," Pratikno said.

Budi Karya has indeed not appeared in public or attended a number of agendas in the past two weeks.

Previously, a spokesman for the Ministry of Transportation, Adita Irawati revealed that Budi Karya was suffering from typhus and asthma, not because of contracting the corona virus. 

"He is being treated in hospital because of typhus and asthma that has long suffered," said Adita, Saturday (3/13/2020).

Adita also dismissed the issue that circulated if Budi Karya contracted the Corona virus. Adita was also reluctant to reveal where Budi Karya was being treated.

Previously, Corona virus Handling Spokesman, Achmad Yurianto said, the positive case of Covid-19 in Indonesia as of Saturday (03/14/2020) afternoon reached 96. 

The number increased to 27, from the previous day or Friday (3/13/2020).

"This is obtained from the tracing that we are working on massively," Yuri said at the BNPB Building, Jakarta, Saturday.

Of that amount, as many as eight patients were declared cured. The patient was recovered after two negative tests on Corona virus examination.

"The indications are there's no physical complaints and two checks on the virus, were declared negative," said Yuri. (*)
