Minister of Manpower: Company Leaders Must Immediately make the Preparedness Plan for Covid-19

TRIBUNBATAM.id - Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Ida Fauziyah, asked each company to try to prevent the spread of Corona virus disease (Covid-19) in the work environment. 

In addition, Ida continued, it also asked every company leader to educate workers or laborers to implement preventive measures by maintaining the cleanliness of the work environment.

One way that can be done is to provide a means of washing hands in the form of running water, liquid soap, or hand sanitizers, in public work areas, such as entrances, elevators, toilets, and others. 

If there are workers, laborers, or employers who are suspected of being ill due to Covid-19, Ida asserted, it is necessary to take steps in accordance with health standards issued by the Ministry of Health.

To realize this, Ida reminded governors throughout Indonesia to implement a policy of prevention, distribution and handling of Covid-19 cases in the work environment of their respective regions. 

The policy steps that must be taken by the governors are to foster and oversee the implementation of legislation in the field of Occupational Safety and Health (K3), and disseminate information to all levels of the organization and related parties.

Preventive actions that can be taken include Clean and Healthy Life Behavior by integrating the K3 program, empowering the Committee for Safety and Occupational Health (P2K3), and optimizing the function of occupational health services. (*)
