Garuda Indonesia: We Apologies, Today, Ladies and Gentlemen, Can't See Our Stewardess's Face Anymore

TRIBUNBATAM.id -  PT Garuda Indonesia Tbk said it had made various adjustments in order to anticipate the spread of Covid-19.

President Director of Garuda Indonesia, Irfan Setiaputra said, one of the adjustments made was to eliminate some of the facilities in flight, such as magazines and newspapers.

"We also did a lot of adjustments in the flight service, so, magazines, newspapers, we apologize for not being provided anymore, because this is a medium for virus transfer," he said in a virtual hearing of the House of Representatives Commission VI on Wednesday (29/4) 20). 

In addition, pillow and food facilities are also arranged in such a way as to anticipate Covid-19.

Irfan added, all flight cabin crew were required to wear masks according to the applicable health protocol.

"We apologize, today, ladies and gentlemen, especially gentlemen, can no longer see the face of our flight attendants because they must be covered with masks, for the common good," he said.

Furthermore, Irfan asserted, his side had also made adjustments to the number of aircraft passengers, in accordance with the rules that had been issued by the Ministry of Transportation related to operational restrictions on public transportation during the Covid-19 pandemic. 

Although currently many aircraft routes have been stopped due to the Lebaran 2020 homecoming ban, Irfan ensures that he will continue to maintain or maintain the entire aircraft fleet owned.

So, if later the Ministry of Transportation has again allowed the airline to operate normally, Garuda will certainly be ready to serve Passengers.

"So, if PM 25/2020 can have domestic flight operational guidelines again, we make sure the plane is ready," he said. (*)
