Ministry of BUMN Asks Garuda Indonesia Not To Give a Space For Those Who did the Homecoming

TRIBUNBATAM.id - Garuda Indonesia airlines will resume operations starting today, Thursday, May 7, 2020. The service will be operated in accordance with the criteria of the people who can access transportation services during the Covid-19 pandemic.

In response, the Special Staff of the Minister of BUMN, Arya Sinulingga, asked Garuda Indonesia to comply with applicable regulations.

"The BUMN Ministry asks Garuda to comply with protocols established by the government for air transportation," Arya said in his short message, Thursday (05/07/2020). 

Arya does not want Garuda Indonesia to be careless and carry passengers who intend to go home, not the criteria of the people who can access transportation services during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Not only that, Arya also reminded Garuda Indonesia to continue to comply with health protocols when operating in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. 

Previously, the Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya Sumadi said, all modes of transportation were planned to resume operations starting Thursday (7/5/2020), but with restrictions on passenger criteria.

According to Budi, the Ministry of Transportation was tasked with explaining Permenhub Number 25 of 2020 concerning Transportation Control During the Eid Al-Fitr Homecoming Year 1441 Hijri and Circular from the Coordinating Minister for the Economy. 

This policy, said Budi, is intended to keep the national economy running. However, this policy does not mean lifting the ban on going home for the community. (*)
