Bad Weather, Batik Air Forced to Landing at Batam's Hang Nadim Airport, Intended to Pontianak

A flight on the Cengkareng route to Pontianak was forced to land at Batam's Hang Nadim Airport on Monday (07/13/2020) afternoon.

The plane from Batik Air carried 112 passengers.

Batik Air A 320 / PK-LAF aircraft has flight number ID-6220.

Director of Batam Hang Nadim Airport Business Agency and Batam Business Information Technology Agency (BP), Suwarso said, the divert was carried out at approximately 17:37 WIB.

The reason is due to unfavorable weather conditions and short visibility to the destination, so it landed at Batam's Hang Nadim Airport.

"This plane was forced to land in Batam because the destination airport was covered with rain and visibility was under 500 meters," Suwarso said.

He continued, at that time the plane carried as many as 112 passengers, with details of 8 business passengers and 104 economy passengers.

"Passengers after landing at Hang Nadim Batam remained in the plane for about 30 minutes and after getting information on the weather in Pontianak had improved, they finally returned to Pontianak," he said.
