ONLY Within 2 Minutes, 15 Houses in Bintan Were Damaged by a Whirlwind

TRIBUNBATAM.id, BINTAN - A whirlwind that spins for 2 minutes has destroyed 15 houses belonging to residents in Dendun Village, Mantang District, Bintan Regency, Riau Islands Province.

15 houses were reported damaged by strong winds.

Luckily there were no fatalities in the incident that occurred on Wednesday (07/29/2020) that afternoon.

Acting Head of Dendun Village, Nanda said, the strong winds occurred approximately at 14:30 WIB.

"In the accident, there were no casualties," he said.

Nanda added that currently he and a team from the East Bintan Police Station were working to the scene to help the victims of the disaster.

Given the rainy weather conditions that will not subside until Wednesday (07/29/2020) afternoon.

"The team from the regency will also go down to the location to distribute aid to the affected residents.

I have already reported it to the BPBD and the Department of Food Security, maybe tomorrow it will come down," he concluded.

Reported, Head of Mantang, Siti Zaina moved quickly to list the houses of residents in Dendun Village that were hit by strong winds.

For a while, residents who were victims of the strong winds were assisted by village officials and the community.

Siti Zaina said, some residents' houses on the coast were damaged by the strong winds.

From the data received, 3 houses in RT 02 were reported damaged.

Not only that, two houses in RT 03 and four houses in RT 04 Dendun Village, Mantang District were reported to be damaged.

"Then five houses in RT 05 were also reportedly damaged. One heavily damaged resident's house was evacuated to a neighbor's house," he said, Wednesday (07/29/2020).

Strong winds damaged the settlements in Bintan Regency, Riau Islands Province.

As many as 15 houses of Dendun Village residents, Mantang District were reported to have been damaged by strong winds.

From the information collected by TRIBUNBATAM.id, the accident occurred at around 15:00 WIB.

At least 13 houses were slightly damaged while 2 houses were reported as heavily damaged.

East Bintan Police Chief, AKP Ulil Rahim when confirmed the existence of a whirlwind disaster in the Dendun Village area.
