UPDATE August 20: Increase by 2,266, Covid-19 Cases in Indonesia Now 147,211

TRIBUNBATAM.id - Covid-19 transmission still occurs in Indonesia along with the increasing number of cases.

Until Sunday (20/8/2020) at 12.00 WIB, there were 147,211 positive cases of Covid-19 in the country.

This amount is based on data that the Covid-19 Handling Task Force shared with journalists on Sunday afternoon.

In the last 24 hours, an additional 2,266 new cases were recorded. 

Additional new cases were identified from the examination of 28,824 specimens from 11,774 people.

A total of 1,969,941 specimens from 1,108,068 people have been examined as of Sunday today.

It is known that specimens from one person can be taken more than once.

The examination of specimens was carried out using the real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method and molecular rapid test (TCM).

Meanwhile, the number of patients who were declared cured also increased by 2,017 people.

These data increase the accumulation of recovered patients to 100,674 people. 

On the other hand, 72 more patients died when compared to data on Wednesday (19/8/2020).

That way, the total number of positive Covid-19 patients who died was 6,418 people.

Covid-19 cases in the country are spread across 485 districts/cities in 34 affected provinces. (*)
