BMKG Early Warning Friday (18/9), Beware of High Waves in 4 Regions of Riau Islands

In general, the weather conditions in Riau Islands tomorrow, Friday (18/9/2020) are forecast to be cloudy and have the potential for local rain.

BMKG issued an early warning of high sea waves in four areas in Riau Islands, including the waters of Bintan, Lingga, Natuna and Anambas.

TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM - In general, the weather conditions in Riau Islands tomorrow, Friday (18/9/2020) are forecast to be cloudy and have the potential for local rain.

The rain that occurs is also predicted to be of light to moderate intensity, and can be accompanied by lightning, strong winds in the morning and during the day.

This was conveyed by Forecaster on duty BMKG Batam, Pande Made Rony.

"The existence of Tropical Storm Noul around South China Sea area caused a buildup of air masses in northern Riau Islands region which supported the formation of rain clouds," he said, Thursday (17/9/2020).

For the air temperature in Riau Islands ranges from 23 to 31 degrees Celsius, with an average wind speed of 5 to 30 kilometers per hour, and 65 to 98 percent of air humidity.

Meanwhile, BMKG Batam also issued an early warning of the danger of high waves in several waters in Riau Islands.

"For sea transportation and marine activities, we are advised to be careful of high sea waves in Bintan, Lingga, North Bangka, Natuna and Anambas waters," he appealed.

For Natuna waters, high waves are predicted to reach 2.5 meters, Anambas 2 meters, Bintan and Lingga 1.5 meters.

Meanwhile, the waters of Batam and Karimun, high waves only reach 0.8 meters.
