The Doctor Positive for Covid-19, IGD of Muhammad Sani Karimun Hospital is Temporarily Closed

TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM - A doctor on duty at the Emergency Room (IGD) Muhammad Sani Hospital, Karimun Regency, Riau Islands (Kepri), was reportedly exposed to the coronavirus.

As a result, emergency services were temporarily closed as of Friday (2/10/2020) yesterday.

The spokesman for the Karimun Regency Covid-19 Task Force who is also the Head of the Karimun Health Service, Rachmadi, confirmed the incident. 

"For initial information from BTKL, while waiting for official information, we will convey, there is one person from the IGD section of RSUD Muhamad Sani who is positively exposed to Covid-19," Rachmadi said by telephone, Saturday (3/10/2020) this morning. 

Due to this incident, his party immediately closed the emergency room temporarily until the tracing results were completed.

"To minimize transmission, services are temporarily closed for 14 days," Rachmadi explained.

In addition to the temporary closure, his party has been tracing close contact with the patient, especially at Muhammad Sani Hospital. 

"There are about 100 people who have tested the PCR. Hopefully there will be no additions," explained Rachmadi. 

Rachmadi added, the results of investigations carried out to date have concluded that there may still be additional Covid-19 cases. 

This is because there are still many people who have not fully complied with health protocols. (*)
