UPDATE: Increased 5,292, Indonesian Covid-19 Cases Now Reached 586,842

TRIBUNBATAM.id -  The number of positive patients with Covid-19 in Indonesia continues to grow today, Tuesday (12/8/2020). 

Based on data compiled by the government, until Tuesday at 12.00 WIB, there were an additional 5,292 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. 

The addition has caused the total number of Covid-19 cases in Indonesia to now reach 586,842 people, starting from the announcement of the first patient on March 2, 2020. 

This information was conveyed by the Covid-19 Handling Task Force on Tuesday afternoon. 

A total of 5,292 new cases of Covid-19 were discovered after the government examined 52,819 specimens a day.

In the period 7-8 December 2020, 33,485 people were sampled to undergo specimen examination.

In total, the government has examined 6,112,234 specimens from 4,113,090 people sampled. 

For the record, one person can undergo specimen examination more than once. 

Covid-19 cases now have been recorded in all provinces in Indonesia, from Aceh to Papua. 

In more detail, there are 508 districts / cities from 34 provinces that recorded patients due to being infected with the coronavirus.

This means that more than 98.8 percent of the territory in Indonesia has been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. (*)
