Riau Islands Will Get 1,480,000 Doses of Covid-19 Vaccine from the Central Government

TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM -  13 thousand Sinovac brand Covid-19 vaccines are scheduled to arrive at Raja Haji Fisabilillah Airport (RHF) Tanjungpinang Kepri, today, Tuesday (5/1/2020).

Head of the Riau Islands Provincial Health Department, Mohammad Bisri said the Covid-19 vaccine was sent from Jakarta using a Lion Air flight. 

"For the initial stage, only 13,000 vaccines will come. Later, they will be distributed to health workers (Nakes) in the Riau Islands Province," he said when confirmed by telephone to Tribunbatam.id. 

Bisri added, the total number of Sinovac vaccines that the Riau Islands Province will receive from the center is around 1,480,000 which will be earmarked for the next 15 months. 

"After getting technical instructions from the Ministry of Health, then the vaccine can be distributed to the public. My estimate is that it will probably be done in April," he explained. 

Bisri said, until now, there are still several stages of the process to be carried out. Later, the Covid-19 vaccine will be given free of charge to the people of Riau Islands after receiving direction from the central government. 

How is the technical distribution of the Covid-19 vaccine to the public? 

Bisri explained, later on, prospective vaccine recipients will be sent a short message (SMS) from the Government to participate in vaccinating.
