TRIBUNBATAM.id - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Department (BMKG) asked the public to be aware of aftershocks and potential tsunamis due to landslides under the Maluku sea.
BMKG also asked the public to immediately stay away from the beach and go to high places.
Previously, BMKG reported a strong earthquake with Magnitude 6.1 that shocked Seram Island region, Maluku, Indonesia.
This earthquake occurred at 11.43 a.m, centered at the coordinates of 3.39 South Latitude and 129.56 East Longitude.
The exact location of the earthquake was 67 kilometers to the southeast, Central Maluku.
This earthquake has a depth of 10 kilometers.
Previously reported, this earthquake didn't have the potential for a tsunami.
Earthquake tremors were felt in Tehoru, Masohi, Bula and Kairatu with an intensity scale of III MMI.

Meanwhile, the people of Ambon felt the earthquake tremor with an intensity scale of II MMI, several people felt the tremor, and light objects that were hung swayed.
