Weather Forecast in Riau Islands - BMKG Asks Batam Residents to Beware of Potential Rain

TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM - Weather conditions in Batam at the beginning of the fourth week of June 2021 or Monday (6/21/2021) are predicted to be cloudy.

However, according to the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Department (BMKG), the potential for light rain in the morning and afternoon, according to BMKG, is still likely to occur around the Batam, Bintan, Tanjungpinang, Lingga and Anambas areas. 

"This is because there is a confluent area (wind density) in the North Natuna Sea area which causes the growth of rain clouds in the area to be more dominant," explained the Head of BMKG through the Batam Class I BMKG Forecaster, Fitri Annisa in a statement received by Tribunbatam.id, Sunday (20/20). /6/2021).

According to BMKG Batam, rain is expected to occur from 10:00 a.m. to 13:00 p.m, evenly throughout the Batam City area.

Meanwhile, at other hours the weather tends to be sunny and cloudy. 

In addition, the sea wave height around Batam waters is still relatively calm.

The wind speed blows from the southeast to the southwest at a speed of 3-12 knots.

"Beware of rain with moderate to heavy intensity which can be accompanied by lightning and strong winds in the Natuna area and its surroundings," added Fitri Annisa.
