TRIBUNBATAM.id, BINTAN - Bintan Regency currently still holds the Covid-19 red zone status.
Data from the Health Service or Bintan Health Department until June 22, 2021, has 2,309 residents exposed to the coronavirus.
There were 23 new cases added from the latest data compiled.
The Head of the Bintan Health Department, Dr. Gama Af Isnaeni, confirmed the addition of 23 new cases in Bintan Regency.
Gama also explained that these 23 new cases were spread across several sub-districts in Bintan.
Namely Gunung Kijang, East Bintan District and Toapaya District.
He didn't deny that the number of Covid-19 cases in Bintan continued to increase every day.
According to Gama, this spike was caused by many factors, one of which was the negligence of the public during Eid al-Fitr some time ago.
Gama also said, to suppress the rate of Covid-19 cases in Bintan, the public must also implement health protocols.
"This step is the key in efforts to suppress the spread of Covid-19, and we must be disciplined so that this pandemic passes quickly," he explained.
Gama also added that the status of Bintan Regency is now in the Covid-19 red zone, his party will enforce health protocols in all sectors.
"Raids to enforce health protocols will also be carried out in several locations," he said. (*)
