TRIBUNBATAM.id, YOGYAKARTA - Mount Merapi again releases hot clouds today, Thursday (8/5/2021).
Based on observations from the Geological Disaster Technology Research and Development Center (BPPTKG), from 06.00 am to 12.00 noon, there have been five hot cloud avalanches with the furthest sliding distance of 2,000 meters.
The first hot cloud occurred at 08.05 am and lasted in 188 seconds.
Then, at 08.27 am, a similar event occurred for 184 seconds.
At around 08.45 am, Mount Merapi again emitted hot clouds that lasted for 140 seconds.
The fourth hot cloud lasted for 100 seconds at 09.14 am.
While the fifth hot cloud occurred at 09.22 am. This time, it lasted for 102 seconds.
All the hot clouds were reported to be sliding towards the southwest.
Until now, BPPTKG is still setting the activity of Mount Merapi at Alert status (level III). (*)
