Data from the Covid-19 Task Force (Satgas) until Wednesday (8/18/2021) at 12.00 noon showed that there were 15,768 cases added in the last 24 hours.
This addition causes the total number of Covid-19 cases in Indonesia to currently reach 3,908,247 people, as of the announcement of the first case on March 2, 2020.
The same data shows that there are additional cases of recovery from Covid-19. In a day the number increased by 29,794 people.
Thus, the number of recovered Covid-19 patients to date has reached 3,443,903 people.
However, the number of patients who died after being exposed to Covid-19 also increased. On August 17-18, 2021, there were 1,128 cases of death due to the coronavirus.
Thus, the total number of deaths has reached 121,141 since the beginning of the pandemic.
Furthermore, currently, there are 343,203 active cases of Covid-19. Active cases are patients who are still confirmed positive for the coronavirus, and are undergoing treatment in a hospital or self-isolation.
In addition, the government also noted that currently there are 282,964 people with suspect status. (*)
