TRIBUNBATAM.id - Positive cases of the coronavirus (Covid-19) increased by 7,797 today, Friday (9/3).
This addition brings the total positive cases of the coronavirus in Indonesia to 4,116,890 since it was first announced by President Joko Widodo in early March 2020.
Referring to data from the central government's Covid-19 Handling Task Force, of the total positive cases, 3,813,643 of them have recovered. The number of recovered patients increased by 15,544 from the previous day.
Of the total positive cases, 134,930 of them have died. Patients who died after being infected with the corona virus increased by 574 from the previous day.
The number of specimens examined was 209,289. Active cases fell by 8,321 to 168,317.
The coronavirus pandemic is still hitting Indonesia. Had experienced a spike in cases a few weeks after Eid 2021, now the decline has occurred significantly. Both the number of new cases and patients who died. The hospitalization rate has also dropped dramatically.
However, the government is still implementing the policy of Enforcement of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) in a number of regions. The level of implementation of PPKM is adjusted to the level of transmission in each area.
PPKM is valid until September 6. PPKM has also been extended more than 5 times. Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Pandjaitan once said that PPKM will continue to apply as long as the corona virus is still a pandemic in the country. (*)
