TRIBUNBATAM.id - New cases of covid-19 increased by 7,201 cases per day, Tuesday (9/7/2021). This additional number brings the total positive cases in Indonesia to 4,140,634 cases since the beginning of the pandemic.
The Covid-19 Task Force also recorded a total cure rate of 3,864,848 patients, after the addition of 14,159 recovered patients today. Meanwhile, the death toll increased by 683 cases, bringing the total death toll to 137,156 people.
The number of specimens that examined per day is 251 thousand units. The active cases to date are at 138,630 cases, after a decrease of 7,641 cases compared to yesterday.
The government determines the extension of PPKM based on the level in all regions.
In Java-Bali, the extension of the PPKM will be carried out for the next week until September 13. Meanwhile outside Java-Bali, PPKM is extended until next September 20.
Bali is known to be still at level 4 PPKM. Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said Bali was still at level 4, considering the number of new cases that had reached the level of hospital occupancy which hadn't been fully controlled.
"The Special Region of Yogyakarta has successfully decreased to level 3," said Luhut at a press conference, Monday (9/6) night.
Luhut asked the public not to be complacent with the decline in cases of the coronavirus in the country. He didn't want people to celebrate.
"What was achieved together today, of course, isn't a form of euphoria that should be celebrated," said Luhut.
Meanwhile, President Joko Widodo said it was impossible for the coronavirus to disappear completely.
He appealed to the public to remain disciplined in implementing health protocols.
Jokowi asked all elements of the government to convey this to the public.
He didn't want the decline of Covid-19 make people being careless and ignorant.
"Covid-19 is impossible to completely disappear. What we can do is control, this is important, this statement is very important so that there is no excessive euphoria," said Jokowi broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat's Youtube channel, Monday (9/6). (*)
