Batam and Bintan in the Riau Islands are targeted to become tourist destinations that will reopen for foreign tourists after Bali.
TRIBUNBATAM.id - Batam and Bintan in the Riau Islands are targeted to become tourist destinations that will reopen for foreign tourists after Bali.
"For other destinations besides Bali, of course, the next in line are Batam, Bintan, and 18 priority (tourist) destinations that we continue to monitor," said Sandiaga during the Weekly Press Briefing in Jakarta, Monday (9/27/2021).
He added that preparations were being focused on the Lagoi Tourism Area in Bintan and the Nongsa Sensation Tourism Area in Batam.
"End to end CHSE (Cleanliness, Health, Safety, Environmental Sustainability) in Batam and Bintan continue to be prepared," he said.
The Island of the Gods, Bali, is being prepared to welcome back foreign tourist visits in October 2021.
Nevertheless, the re-opening will continue to pay attention to the situation and developments of Covid-19 in Bali.
There are three locations that have been prepared as pilot projects for the reopening trial, namely Sanur, Ubud, and Nusa Dua.
"However, we want all tourist destinations in Bali to be included in the green zone category," he said.
Entrance of foreign tourists long term visa
Batam and Bintan are considered suitable for some tourism development efforts.
Previously reported, Thursday (3/18/2021), Batam and Bintan were considered suitable as entry points for foreign tourists with long-term visas.
It is hoped that the long term visa can attract foreign tourists who want to stay in Indonesia for a long time.
"We see that long-term visas can improve the quality of our tourism. From the amount of time they stay in Indonesia as well as from the expenses they spend during their stay in Indonesia," said Sandiaga, Thursday (3/18).
In addition, Nongsa in Batam and Bintan Lagoi are also planned as travel corridor zones in the Riau Islands Province. At that time Batam and Bintan were considered ready in terms of the number of Covid-19 cases.
