Based on the records of the Geological Disaster Technology Research and Development Center (BPPTKG), the sliding distance of this lava reaches 1,800 meters to the southwest.
In the past week, the volume of the lava dome of Mount Merapi in the southwest reached 1,630,000 cubic meters.
Meanwhile, the central lava dome has a volume of 2,854,000 cubic meters.

"It was observed that there was an increase in the height of the southwest lava dome of approximately 1 meter," said Head of BPPTKG, Hanik Humaida in his written report, Friday (10/1/2021).

Currently, Mount Merapi is still on alert status. That status hasn't changed since November 2020.
