TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM - Besides Bali, two other tourist destinations in Indonesia, namely Batam and Bintan, will also be reopened for foreign tourists (tourists) starting October 14, 2021.
"I also want to convey an update that Bali and several other destinations, such as Batam and Bintan, will be tested on October 14 (2021)," said Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno.
He made this statement at a press conference at the Accor Indonesia event entitled "Batik Nusantara Celebration" at The Phoenix Hotel Yogyakarta, Sunday (10/10/2021).
The reopening of the two tourist destinations, he continued, also coincided with a new quarantine period that was being finalized.
Even so, in the Weekly Press Briefing, Monday (11/10/2021), he said that there was a possibility that the quarantine could be shortened to 4-5 days based on the proposals received.
However, Sandiaga reiterated that the quarantine period mentioned wasn't a final decision and was currently being discussed further.

Batam and Bintan are ready to welcome foreign tourists
Lagoi Bintan and Nongsa Batam tourist destinations in the Riau Islands have been ready to welcome foreign tourists since September.
This is because the handling of Covid-19 and the vaccination rate in the two areas are getting better.
It is known, the first dose of Covid-19 vaccination has also covered 79 percent of the target, while the second dose has reached 45 percent.
Not only that, tourism businesses such as hotels, resorts, restaurants and tourist attractions have also implemented strict health protocols and CHSE.
