An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.9 in Malang Regency, East Java, Monday (1/10), was felt quite hard in a number of areas.
TRIBUNBATAM.id, MALANG -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.9 in Malang Regency, East Java, Monday (1/10), was felt quite hard in a number of areas.
"Mag: 4.9, Jan-10-22 17:28:13 WIB, Location: 9.13 South Latitude, 112.73 East Longitude (Earthquake epicenter was at sea 111 Km Southeast Malang Regency), Depth: 10 Km," as quoted from the official account of the Meteorology Agency , Climatology, and Geophysics (BMKG), Monday (1/10).
"It is felt on the MMI (Modified Mercalli Intensity) II-III Malang, II-III Blitar, II-III Lumajang, II-III Tulungagung, II-III Jember scales," the statement continued.
Quoted from the BMKG website, the MMI II scale means "Vibrations are felt by some people, light objects that are hung sway".
Meanwhile, the MMI III scale is in the form of "The vibration is felt real in the house. The vibration feels like a truck passing through".
