TRIBUNBATAM.id - The President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo asked that the number of MotoGP spectators at the Mandalika Circuit, Lombok, be reduced. The Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA) also agreed to the directive.

From the originally planned audience of 100,000, it will be reduced to only 60,000. This step was taken to prevent the spread of Covid-19 transmission.

Tickets for the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia have been on sale since they opened on January 6, 2022. Until now, it is stated that the tickets that have been sold have reached more than 40 percent of the total projected ticket sales.

Deputy Director of MGPA Cahyadi Wanda, said that ticket projections for the first day (practice session), second (practice and qualification) and third (race) were 63,534 tickets each.

Ticket sales are divided into five classes, namely Premier Class (900 tickets), Deluxe Class (2,000), Festival General Admission (10,000), Standard Grand Stand (28,578) and Premium Grandstand (22,056).

With the reduced target of 100,000 spectators to 60,000 spectators, ticket availability has been also decreased. But, according to Cahyadi, the 60,000 is much more realistic.
