During the eruption, which occurred at around 21.15 WIB, Mount Anak Krakatau spewed volcanic ash with a height of 800 meters above the peak.
"Grey to black volcanic ash bursts from the body of Mount Anak Krakatau and leads to the southwest," said Mount Anak Krakatau supervisor Andi, quoted by Tribun Travel, Monday (4/18/2022).
The eruption was the 29th times during 2022.
The eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau began on Thursday, February 3. The series of volcanic activity lasts until April.
The activity of Mount Krakatau is also the most active among other volcanoes in Indonesia.
Mount Anak Krakatau is on alert status
Although the eruption has again occurred, the status of Mount Anak Krakatau is currently at level II or alert.
The public is also prohibited from approaching and carrying out any activities within a radius of 2 kilometers from the mountain.
As is known, reported from the website of the Banten Province Tourism Office, Mount Anak Krakatau is actually one of the tourist destinations for mountain climbers.
In addition to climbing, tourists can also see the beauty of the underwater around the Mount Anak Krakatau.
