Itinerary 2 Days 1 Night on Belitung Island, Must Stop by to Laskar Pelangi Beach

From Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Banten to HAS Hanandjoeddin International Airport in Tanjung Pandan can be reached by direct flight in just about an hour.

Before landing your feet on Laskar Pelangi Island, make sure you have prepared a travel itinerary in advance so that your vacation can be fun.

Renting a motorbike or car around the airport area can be the best option to support your vacation on this island.

Because, there is no public transportation that can reach all areas. The existence of online motorcycle taxis only revolves around urban areas.

• Breakfast at Mie Belitung Atep

If you take the earliest flight from Soekarno-Hatta Airport, you can arrive in Belitung at 07.30 WIB. Well, it's the right time to have breakfast before heading to a hotel or other destination.

Mie Belitung Atep, is the right choice, because the location is only about 20 minutes from the airport. The warmth of the noodles with a savory-sweet taste gives comfort to the stomach after a long journey.

The Mie Belitung Atep are priced at IDR 20,000 a portion and the rice tim at IDR 22,000.

You can also buy a typical Belitung drink, namely Sirup Jeruk Kunci for IDR 35,000 for a 350 ml size.

• Check in hotel

• Enjoying the sunset at Laskar Pelangi Beach

A trip to Belitung is not complete without a visit to the iconic Tanjung Tinggi Beach because the beach was the location for the filming of 'Laskar Pelangi' in 2008.

The location is in Sijuk District, Belitung. Access is also very easy, can be reached by car or motorbike.

There is no official entrance fee. You only need to pay for parking of IDR 5,000. You can take pictures in the style of eight Laskar Pelangi figures, precisely on the biggest rock, while pointing at the sky as if it were pointing at a rainbow.

This beach offers views of the color gradations of granite that blend beautifully with the sea water which is getting more and more blue in the afternoon.

The waves are very calming. Plus, you can clearly see small fish and crabs near the rocks jutting into the sea.

• Dinner at the Timpo Duluk food stall

After that, you can have dinner at the Belitong Timpo Duluk restaurant on Jalan Lettu Mad Daud, Parit, Tanjung Pandan, Belitung.

This restaurant provides a variety of home cooked menus.

The food served includes fried fish, fish soup, tofu pepes, and seasoned chicken.

• Have a coffee and enjoy the corner of Belitung city at Kong Djie Coffee

Closing the night, while enjoying the corner of Belitung City, you can hang out and sip a glass of legendary iced coffee and a plate of grilled bananas at Kong Djie Coffee.

Nearly 80 years old, this coffee shop located on Jalan Siburik, Tanjung Pandan, Belitung is never empty of visitors.

This place is always busy, both by locals and tourists who are joking around. 

The second day

• Island hopping

This most popular activity is not to be missed.

You have to enjoy the charm of the beach and the beautiful group of islands around Belitung Island.

The trip can be started from the pier of Tanjung Kelayang Beach, by renting a wooden boat parked on the beach.

These boats are owned by local fishermen around Tanjung Kelayang Beach, and can be rented at rates starting from IDR 500,000 for medium-sized boats with a capacity of up to 10 people.

The Tanjung Kelayang Beach can be reached in approximately 30 minutes from the center of Tanjung Pandan City.

You will be given about 30 minutes to 1 hour to stop at one island. There, you are free to do many things, such as taking pictures, snorkeling, or just relaxing.

A few tips, if you want to explore many islands, come early at around 07.00 WIB, so you have more time.

You can also decide for yourself which places you want to go. There are a number of islands that can be visited, namely Batu Garuda Island, Pasir Island, Batu Berlayar Island, Lengkuas Island with its lighthouse, and Kelayang Island.

At the end of the trip, you can have lunch with seafood dishes, on Kelayang Island.

Before going home, you should take the time to shop for typical Belitung souvenirs.

Some recommendations for typical Belitung souvenirs that can be purchased include Jeruk Kunci syrup, Getas or pilus fish, Belitung pepper which is famous for its quality, to coffee and cocoa powder produced by Kong Djie Coffee.
