The Bunaken Festival 2022 will be Held on November 2-4, Join the Hatchling Release

TRIBUNBATAM.id - The 2022 Bunaken Festival in North Sulawesi will be held on November 2-4, 2022 or starting tomorrow. 

This year, the festival will be held in three different locations, namely Malalayang Beach Walk, Bunaken Island, and the Pohon Kasih in the Mega Mas Region of Manado. 

This year, the theme is "It's Time For Bunaken, Let's Save Bunaken". 

Aside from being a cultural party, the Bunaken Festival is also an event to invite everyone to save the marine ecosystem.  

One of the popular activities that can be found at the Bunaken Festival is the traditional boat ketinting parade. 

However, apart from that, there are also traditional performances and other activities to be found.

Quoted from the Wonderful Indonesia website which is managed by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, here are some things that can be found at the 2022 Bunaken Festival, including: 

1. Catinting Parade

This traditional boat not only serves as a means of transportation, but is also used by fishermen to find fish.

The opening of the 2022 Bunaken Festival will be filled with a group katinting cruise that will decorate the ocean.

2. Traditional dance performance

Visitors can present a variety of traditional dance performances from North Sulawesi, such as the Masamper Dance, Maengket Dance, and Kabasaran Dance.

3. Clean the beach

Cleaning the beach environment has always been one of the Bunaken Festival agendas, including this year.

This activity is expected to further build public awareness to dispose of garbage in its place, especially when visiting the beach, so that the beauty of the beach is maintained. 

4. Reef restoration

The divers will provide new habitat as well as rehabilitate coral reef ecosystems in Bunaken Indonesia National Park, so that the underwater life becomes more beautiful.

5. Mangrove planting

The 2022 Bunaken Festival will also invite visitors to plant mangroves that can purify water and prevent shoreline erosion.

In addition, mangrove spots are also increasingly popular in various destinations in Indonesia, because they offer beautiful views to explore.

Last year, about 500 mangrove trees were successfully planted here. 

6. Hatchling release

Hatchlings have an important role in the balance of the marine ecosystem.

At the 2022 Bunaken Festival, visitors can also participate in the release of 100 hatchlings who are ready to help maintain the function of coral reefs. 

7. Fashion show

After being tired of doing a number of activities, you can relax while watching a fashion show on the beach of Bunaken Indonesia National Park.

You can sit and enjoy the panoramic view of the beach and the breeze.
