Cosmetic circulation mode is carried out by selling online in several e-commerce sites, and targeting their markets throughout Indonesia.
This circulation mode has shifted from normal.
It used to still be conventional, but now it uses online marketing.
This was revealed by Head of BPOM Yosef Dwi Irawan, Friday (11/01/2019) at BPOM Kepri office in Nongsa District, Batam City.
"Mode of cosmetics circulation that we secure is done online and not conventionally," Yosef said.
When confirmed, what use social media such as Facebook, Instagram for marketing, Yosef said that until now it had only discovered using e-commerce.
"For Instagram, Facebook or other social media we have not found sales through that, but while we find using e-commerce alone," said Yosef.
When securing the cosmetic item, there are only employees at location of the action.
"When security is at the location, only employees who do not know the owner of illegal or responsible goods," said Yosef.
He said, the mode of perpetrators or owners for illegal goods are using a network breakdown system.
Where the workers never know the owner of the goods.
"The owner of the goods uses disconnected network mode, the employees in the location have only been working for 1 to 2 months and they only know when there is an order to do packing and shipping," said Yosef.
Until now it is still exploring who owns the goods. It also seeks to break the chain of illegal cosmetics circulation.
"Until now we (BPOM) are still deepening who owns the goods, and at least we are trying to prevent the circulation of Illegal cosmetics," said Yosef.
The illegal cosmetics, if used by users, are feared to cause skin problems.
The effects can be reddish, itchy inflammation and the most dangerous can cause skin cancer, said Yosef.
Yosef appealed, if the public found drug and food distribution that did not have a permit or was suspicious it could report it to his side.
"It is expected that all levels of society are more concerned about the circulation of drugs and foods that do not have licenses or are suspicious. The public can report to BPOM Riau Islands so that we can follow up," said Yosef.
Throughout 2019, period from January to October, BPOM Kepri had handled 10 cases, and 5 cases of which were cosmetic cases. (tribunbatam.id/Alamudin)
