TRIBUNBATAM.id - High waves in Natuna waters are predicted to reach 4 meters today, Sunday (05/01/2020).
This was conveyed by Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Class I Hang Nadim Meteorology Station Batam.
Forecaster on duty, Made Rony said the high waves were also predicted for Anambas, Lingga, Bintan, and Tanjungpinang waters.
"Anambas waters are 3.5 meters high wave, Lingga 2 meters, Bintan and Tanjungpinang 2.5 meters," he said.
Meanwhile, the waters of Karimun and Batam are predicted to have high waves reaching 1 meter.
"To sea transportation, marine activities, it is urged to be on guard against high waves, and strong winds in the territorial waters of Natuna, Anambas, Bintan, and Lingga," he appealed.
For weather conditions in Riau Islands, it is generally forecast to be cloudy, with the potential for local rain with mild to moderate intensity, and can be accompanied by lightning, even strong winds.
That was caused the slowing of wind speed in Riau Islands region due to the existence of wind curves (shearline), caused the accumulation of air masses which increased the chance of forming rain clouds. (TribunBatam.id/Endraka Putra)
