TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM - Since Covid-19 pandemic struck Batam City, occupancy rates in several hotels have dropped dramatically.
Although there was no large-scale social restrictions (PSBB), the impact of this pandemic was felt.
In fact, ahead of the implementation for 'New Normal' phase, the occupancy rate did not go up.
One of them can be seen at I Hotel Batam. The occupancy rate there is only 25 percent.
"There has been no change to date," said I Batam Hotel's Head of Sales and Marketing, Dita to TRIBUNBATAM.id, Friday (12/06/2020).
Dita admitted, the passion ahead of 'New Normal' phase had not yet been felt.

The low occupancy rate, according to her, is proportional to the decline in hotel revenue.
"Now there are only guests who have stayed long before Covid-19," she explained regarding the current hotel content.
Most of the guests were also workers not foreign or domestic tourists.
In line with Dita, Aston Hotel Batam Director of Sales and Marketing, Fitri Kusumawardhani also admitted.
"Temporary pick-up is only 19 to 25 rooms a day," he told TRIBUNBATAM.id.
Whereas the occupancy rate is only around 15 percent.
This figure is lower than I Hotel Batam.
According to him, preparations to welcome the phase of 'New Normal' have been done far ahead.
The health protocol in the hotel is very strict.
Businesses in the hotel sector themselves, he added, hoped that this condition could be immediately resolved and a solution sought.
